Top EADS executive called in for questioning: spokeswoman

BERLIN (AFP) — The former chief financial officer of Airbus, and current head of the EADS plant in Dresden, Andreas Sperl, has been summoned to Paris for questioning in part of the corruption probe against EADS, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday.

According to a source close to the case, his interview is expected on Wednesday in the investigation into insider trading at EADS.

"I am convinced that I acted in full accordance with the laws in place and with internal regulations," Sperl said, cited by the spokeswoman in Dresden.

Sperl said he was confident the French justice would come to the same conclusions at the end of its investigation.
