Feaster quits as Lightning boss

TAMPA, Florida (AFP) — Jay Feaster resigned as general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning here on Friday, unhappy with his role as bosses and assistants handled a flurry of National Hockey League moves.

Feaster spent six years in the post, helping guide Tampa Bay's 2004 Stanley Cup championship run, but the Lightning signed 16 free agents and named Barry Melrose as coach since June 25.
