Mexico's Ochoa leads weather-interrupted Canadian Open

OTTAWA (AFP) — Mexico's Lorena Ochoa is in the clubhouse with the lead after play was called off Friday at the Canadian Women's Open because of poor weather.

Play was called with 75 players players still on the course. They will continue second-round play Saturday morning.

Seeking to defend her title, Ochoa signed for a four-under-par 68, moving to 10-under 134 overall.

World No. 1 Ochoa entered the second round with a one-stroke lead over Annika Sorenstam.

She was able to maintain her lead with a round that featured five birdies and a bogey.

Ochoa is two shots ahead of Katherine Hull, of Australia, who shot a dynamic seven-under 65.

Yani Tseng, of Taiwan, played her first 10 holes in six-under and also is at eight-under.
