Dechy, Mauresmo to meet in all-French WTA semi-final

CINCINNATI, Ohio (AFP) — Nathalie Dechy outlasted Alexsandra Wozniak 7-6 (7/4), 7-5 on Friday to set up an all-French semi-final against compatriot Amelie Mauresmo at the Western and Southern Financial Group Open.
Dechy eliminated the 39th-ranked Wozniak, of Canada, in just under two hours, saving three of four break points in the second set.
The 29-year-old Dechy, who claimed her lone title in 2003 at Gold Coast, moves on to the semis to face former world No. 1 Mauresmo, who beat American Vania King 6-2, 6-4.
Despite seven double faults, Mauresmo needed just 78 minutes to beat King, saving eight of 10 break points and winning 74 percent of her second-return points.
