Williams sisters win doubles Olympic gold

BEIJING (AFP) — US sisters Serena and Venus Williams beat Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual 6-2, 6-0 to claim their second women's doubles Olympic gold medal on Sunday.
The Williams sisters first won the doubles title at Sydney 2000, when Venus also won singles gold.
Earlier, China collected their second consecutive women's doubles medal when Yan Zi and Zheng Jie beat Ukrainian sisters Alona and Kateryna Bondarenko 6-2, 6-2 in the bronze medal play-off. Li Ting and Sun Tiantian won gold at Athens 2004.
