Bomb explodes on Malaga beach: report

MADRID (AFP) — A bomb exploded Sunday without causing any casualties on a beach in Malaga, southern Spain, which was evacuated after a warning allegedly made in the name of armed Basque separatist group ETA, local officials said.

"There was an explosion on the small beach of Gualdalmar. There was no damage," a spokesman for local officials told AFP.

The beach had been evacuated before the blast, according to an AFP photographer.

"There had been two other bomb alerts and the areas had been evacuated," local officials said.

One was planted at Benalmadena marina, near Malaga, the other along the motorway linking Malaga to Torremolinos.

The blast on the beach in Malaga occurred around 1:00 pm (1100 GMT), near a hotel, local officials said....
