US condemns suicide bomb attack in Algeria

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The United States on Tuesday condemned a suicide attack in Algeria that killed 43 people and wounded 45 others outside an elite police school, saying it was another grim reminder of terrorism.
"We condemn this attack, it's just another example of the reach of extremists and we would support the government of Algeria as best as we can in trying to fight this scourge," said State Department spokesman Robert Wood.
"It's another reminder of terrorism, can hit any place, any time, anywhere and we all -- the international community -- have to stamp this out because in the end, terrorism is a threat to all of us," he told reporters.
Wood added that Washington would cooperate if there was a request to help in the probe over the blast.
