SAS share price plunges after Spanair crash

STOCKHOLM (AFP) — Shares in Scandinavian carrier SAS plunged 6.41 percent on the Stockholm stock exchange on Wednesday after an airplane owned by its Spanish subsidiary Spanair crashed at Madrid's airport.
The share price fell by as much as 8.0 percent before recovering some ground in late afternoon trading, when it was down 6.41 percent at 43.80 kronor.
At least 45 people were killed and 40 injured when the jetliner crashed while attempting to make an emergency landing just after taking off on a flight to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands.
SAS was unable to provide any details on the crash or the number of victims but said in a statement there were 166 passengers and six crew on board.
