Thailand threatens to expel Gary Glitter to Britain

BANGKOK (AFP) — Thai immigration authorities threatened Thursday to expel former glam rocker and convicted paedophile Gary Glitter to his native Britain after Hong Kong refused to let him in.
Glitter, 64, was released from a Vietnamese prison on Tuesday after serving nearly three years for committing obscene acts with two girls aged 11 and 12.
He had been booked to fly that night to London via Bangkok, but refused to get on the plane to Britain and instead spent 24 hours in a transit lounge before agreeing to take a flight to Hong Kong.
Chinese authorities refused to allow him in and he was sent back to Thailand, where he has been declared persona non grata.
