Nam, Somkiat lead Brunei Golf Open

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (AFP) — Korea's Nam Young and Somkiat Srisanga of Thailand ended the first round of the Brunei Open as joint leaders after carding blistering seven-under-par 64s on Thursday.
The duo stole the early thunder at the Empire Hotel and Country Club to lead by one stroke from inaugural champion Terry Pilkadaris of Australia, compatriot Brad Kennedy and Korea's Ted Oh.
Unheralded Filipino Benjie Magada and Andrew Dodt of Australia were a further stroke back after matching 66s while title holder Lin Wen-tang of Taiwan opened his defence with a 68.
