Tropical Storm Fay leaves seven dead in Florida

MIAMI (AFP) — Seven people have been killed over the five days that Tropical Storm Fay has been pounding Florida with torrential rain and powerful winds, state officials said Friday.
"We have another person dead in Palm Beach who lost control of their vehicle because of the storm. So unfortunately, now the current figure is seven deaths in Florida," a spokesman for Florida governor Charlie Crist told AFP.
"Fay is not out of Florida yet," Crist said earlier, announcing six storm-related deaths and warning Floridians to remain calm and stay off the roads.
"This is a killer storm," he said.
