Cisse caps a memorable debut to sink Spurs

LONDON (AFP) — Djibril Cisse produced a debut goal for Sunderland to earn a dramatic 2-1 Premier League victory over Tottenham on Saturday.

Cisse only joined Roy Keane's side on a season long loan from Marseille 24 hours before the game, but the France striker wasted no time making an immediate impression with an 83rd minute winner.

The White Hart Lane contest seemed set for a draw after Tottenham's Jermaine Jenas cancelled out Keiran Richardson's superb opener.

But Cisse was introduced 25 minutes from time, and met a Daryl Murphy cross late on to take all three points back to Wearside.

Both outfits started the campaign with opening day defeats, so this North London encounter was vital in order to get their points tally running.
