NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (AFP) — Danish teen sensation Caroline Wozniacki played like there was no tomorrow on Saturday to win her second career WTA event in a row at the New Haven hard-court tournament.
The talented 18-year-old Dane stunned top-seeded Anna Chakvetadze of Russia 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 in a battle of baseliners that lasted one hour and 53 minutes.
"It's amazing," Wozniacki said. "Everything is just going so fast. I'm just enjoying every second of it. You never know when it's going to end or if it's going to end soon or not."
The 22nd-ranked Dane, who pulled off a straight set upset over number three seed Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli in the quarter-finals on Thursday and repeated the feat in the semi-finals over another Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, seeded...
