Qatari teen dies after 'race' attack in Britain

LONDON (AFP) — A gang of drunken youths brutally attacked a 16-year-old Qatari language student who later died of his injuries in what is being treated as a racist attack, British police said on Tuesday.

Mohammed Al-Majed died at King's College hospital in London on Saturday a day after being attacked by a group of local youths outside a takeaway kebab shop in the southern English seaside town of Hastings.

Witnesses said the English language student was kicked to death by drunken, hooded thugs in an unprovoked attack.

According to the results of a post-mortem carried out on his body, Majed died after sustaining head injuries consistent with falling over and striking his head, police said.
