Brazilian striker Ailton signs for SCR Altach

VIENNA (AFP) — Brazilian striker Ailton, a former leading goal scorer in the German Bundesliga, has signed for a year with SCR Altach, the Austrian club announced on Tuesday.
"If he can more or less perform for us as he did two or three years ago, he'll be a great help," SCR Altach chief Werder Gunz said.
Ailton, 35, was leading goal scorer in the Bundesliga in 2003-04 while at Werder Bremen, but has changed club seven times in all since 2005, performing disappointingly.
He most recently played with Ukrainian first-division club Metallurg Donezk, after being suspended by German club Duisburg in January.
At Altach, Ailton joins another compatriot, Ze Elias, who signed for one year in June.
