US soldier killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD (AFP) — An American soldier has died of wounds received in a bomb attack in Baghdad, the US military in Iraq said on Wednesday.
The soldier was wounded after the vehicle he was travelling in was hit by a roadside bomb in the northeast of the capital on Tuesday, it said. He died at a medical facility in Baghdad on Wednesday.
The latest death brings to 4,148 the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, according to a count by AFP based on independent website icasualties.org.
