LONDON (AFP) — Former Sweden under-21 international defender Jonas Olsson has joined Premiership side West Bromwich Albion from Dutch club Nijmegen.
Pending a medical, the 25-year-old central defender is expected to sign and seal the move over the weekend.
The fee could rise by a further 360,000 pounds in performance-related add-ons. Olsson is renowned for being a tough-tackling defender, good in the air and comfortable on the ball.
After moving to Holland from home-town club Landskrona in 2005, he has been a regular in the Nijmegen side for the past three years.
