Israeli troops shoot Palestinian in face during raid: medics

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AFP) — Israeli troops shot a Palestinian man in the face with three rubber bullets during an overnight raid in the West Bank Monday, leaving him critically wounded, Palestinian medics said.
Security forces had come to the village of Nilin -- the site of weekly demonstrations against Israel's controversial separation barrier -- to arrest a relative of Awad Srur, 40, a factory worker and father of four, witnesses said.
In the course of the operation Srur was shot with four rubber-coated bullets, three of which struck him in the face, according to doctors treating him at a hospital in the nearby town of Ramallah.
