GLASGOW (AFP) — Scotland manager George Burley's plans for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Iceland suffered another blow on Wednesday as three more players withdrew from his squad.
Cardiff defender Kevin McNaughton, Rangers midfielder Kevin Thomson and Preston midfielder Calum Davidson have all pulled out because of injury. Hearts midfielder Michael Stewart has been called up as a replacement.
Burley had already lost David Marshall, David Weir and Garry O'Connor through injury earlier in the week.
