India's Paes breezes into US Open doubles final

NEW YORK (AFP) — India's Leander Paes moved closer to claiming two Grand Slam doubles titles at one event for only the second time in his career, booking a berth Wednesday in the US Open men's doubles final.
"I think 2008 in New York is going to be special," Paes said after joining Czech Lukas Dlouhy to beat Argentina's Maximo Gonzales and Juan Monaco 6-2, 6-0 in just 46 minutes.
Paes and Zimbabwe's Cara Black had already booked a berth in Thursday's mixed doubles final. Now Paes has a chance at age 35 to duplicate a feat he managed only once before, taking 1999 Wimbledon men's and mixed doubles titles.
