McCain gets Palin family hugs in convention city

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (AFP) — Republican White House hopeful John McCain arrived Wednesday for his nominating convention, to be met by his family and warm hugs from running mate Sarah Palin and her five children.
In a choreographed show of unity, McCain reserved his biggest welcome for Palin's pregnant teenage daughter, Bristol, and her young boyfriend, Levi Johnston, seen in public for the first time since the controversy erupted.
Republicans have been roiled by the news that Bristol is five months pregnant, although the Palins have said she is planning to keep the baby and wed 18-year-old Johnston.
McCain descended from his Straight Talk Express aircraft to be met by wife, Cindy and his seven children, including adopted daughter Bridget.
