66 Student Teams Win Sustainable Development Grants

WASHINGTON, DC (ENS) — Sixty-six student teams have been chosen for the 2004-2005 academic year to research and develop sustainable designs through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) competition. Each team will receive a $10,000 grant to work on its design.

Sustainable development allows communities to grow economically while preserving natural resources for future generations. Students will design solutions that benefit the environment and are not prohibitively expensive. The P3 Award Competition has two phases. Initially teams compete for the $10,000 P3 grants.
