Remember 1989? Pepsi pulled Madonna's "Like a Prayer" commercial that year because--surprise, surprise--people found it offensive. There was Meg Ryan's scream scene at a Katz' Deli in "When Harry Met Sally." Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles surpassed Flock of Seagulls in celebrity status. And then there was Richard Marx. While teens and 'tweens slow danced to "Right Here Waiting" at their school balls, hip moms sang "Hold Onto the Nights" into their mops while cleaning the kitchen.
