Bush has to regain his global credibility

As George Bush stood side by side with Tony Blair in London to respond to Thursday's terrorist outrages in Istanbul, Blair uttered some passionate words:

"What has caused the terrorist attack today in Turkey is not the President of the United States, not the alliance between America and Britain. What is responsible for that terrorist attack is... the terrorists."

One would think that point was painfully obvious, in a week when terrorist bombs blew to shreds scores of innocent Turks. One would think the world would be united against the terrorists, at a time when innocent Arab Muslims were recently blown up in Riyadh, when global humanitarians - Red Cross and United Nations workers - are being slain in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Instead, America's most faithful...
