The furor over foul-ups in the rollout of the new Medicare drug program, sometimes called Plan D, put us on the hunt for related Web sites. The plan is overly complicated: Older people in Philadelphia, for example, must choose among about 35 available plans. The Feds were "working as feverishly as possible" to fix things, Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt said last week.

Search plans. The Medicare Web site has this starting point for finding what plans are available to individuals, depending on their Medicare status and local area.
