Berwyn firm and IBM expand medical-image archiving

A Berwyn company that has developed software for archiving medical-imaging records and IBM announced technology for hospitals yesterday that can store and retrieve all digital medical images in case of a hurricane, fire, or computer-system interruption. The company, i3Archive, and International Business Machines Corp. now provide 25 hospitals, including the University of Pennsylvania, with a separate system of storage and retrieval of digital mammograms, breast MRIs, and breast ultrasound records.
