Council Rock North tops Cheltenham

Before last night, the girls' basketball teams from Cheltenham and Council Rock North - previously known as Council Rock - had met three times since the 1999-2000 season to decide the PIAA District 1 Class AAAA championship.
Thanks to Addie Micir, Round 4 - like two of the previous three rounds - went to the Indians.
Micir secured the latest district crown for Council Rock North when she stole the ball with five seconds left and hit a pair of free throws to clinch a 49-45 victory last night at Villanova University.
Both Council Rock North (27-2) and Cheltenham (26-3) - ranked second and third, respectively, by The Inquirer in Southeastern Pennsylvania - exited the game knowing each will advance to the PIAA state tournament.
