If there was one boys' swim team that clearly dominated the first day of the PIAA District 1 swimming championships, it was Radnor.
The Red Raiders excelled against their Class AA competitors at La Salle University yesterday afternoon, compiling 217 points, well ahead of second-place Garnet Valley (140) and third-place Upper Merion (89).
The District 1 Class AA and AAA competition for girls took place later last night. Final team standings for the boys' and girls' teams will be decided after competition today at La Salle.
The first four finishers in each event in Class AAA and the winners in AA automatically qualify for the state championships, to be held at Bucknell University March 15-18.
