GE division in Trevose to buy Toronto company
GE Water & Process Technologies in Trevose, a division of General Electric Co., has reached an agreement to acquire Toronto company Zenon Environmental Inc. for $656 million. Zenon has 1,500 employees, and had $206 million in revenue in 2005. The deal will expand GE Water & Process's position in the municipal waste-water market, spokesman Troy Kirkpatrick said yesterday. The Zenon operation will report to the GE unit in Trevose, which is the former BetzDearborn Inc. The deal is expected to close this summer. - Bob Fernandez
