New Hampshire starter Mike MacDonald held Trenton to three hits in a 4-1 Eastern League win yesterday that snapped a six-game winning streak by the Thunder.

Vito Chiaravalloti's three-run homer led the Fisher Cats' offense. It was the sixth home run of the season for Chiaravalloti, a Middletown, N.J., native and a former star at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, N.J.

The only Thunder run came on a homer by Kevin Howard in the eighth.

Lakewood 3, Lake County 1

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Matt Maloney struck out six in 62/3 innings to lead the BlueClaws past the Captains in the South Atlantic League. The righthander lowered his ERA to 1.44.
