Pa. manufacturing-job loss fell to 1% in last 12 months
Pennsylvania lost 1 percent of its manufacturing jobs in the last 12 months, according to the 2007 Pennsylvania Manufacturers Register, which was released yesterday. The loss amounted to 7,332 jobs, the register showed. The register is an industrial guide published by Manufacturers' News Inc., Evanston, Ill. In the previous 12 months, ended in July 2005, the state lost 2 percent of its manufacturing jobs. "Hopefully this indicates a slowing, if not a reversal, of the loss of Pennsylvania manufacturing jobs," said Tom Dubin, president of Manufacturers' News.
