Lack of progress sidelines Pinkston for tonight's game

Eagles coach Andy Reid is normally positive in assessing his players, saying they are making progress or doing a good job.

So when Reid was less than optimistic about the status of wide receiver Todd Pinkston, it sent up a rather large red flag.

Reid announced yesterday as the Eagles broke camp at Lehigh University that Pinkston would not play in tonight's preseason game at M&T Bank Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens. Pinkston has yet to take part in live contact during camp because of soreness in both Achilles tendons.

"I just don't think he's far enough along," Reid said.

Pinkston missed last season with a ruptured Achilles tendon in his right foot. The seventh-year receiver was not active in the team's minicamps, but he was expected to be ready...
