After a long, arduous commute home from work on a rainy Thursday, this Discreet Diner was in no mood to get back in the car and sit through 12 more red-light cycles en route to some chain restaurant one step up - maybe - from fast food. No, it was an evening for staying close to home. So Discreet Diner and a companion stayed in the neighborhood, choosing Moby Dick's Seafood Saloon, the landmark restaurant at Maple and Carlton Avenues in Lindenwold.
Moby Dick's has been around for 35 years. Jim Mona is the owner, and Jim Jr. is the chef. Other family members help out from time to time. We were seated at one of the 14 booths that line the walls around an expansive bar. Needing immediate decompression, Discreet Diner ordered a margarita; companion had a cosmopolitan.
