The planned remake of the '84 cult classic Revenge of the Nerds, about the tragicomic life of the nerdling peoples who'd never get invited to The Big Chill, has been killed - never to rise again. Emory University in Atlanta, which had agreed to have the film shot on its campus, has thrown the production out, saying the film's stunts and antics, language and themes are just too bawdy, crude, rude and uncivilized.

Rather than pay everyone in the production daily as it strove to find a new location, production company Fox Atomic decided to kill the movie. "Everybody has worked really hard on Revenge of the Nerds, and we're all disappointed that we can't move forward," Fox Atomic president Peter Rice said.
