Villa Maria's Ryan taking skills to 'Nova

Villa Maria Academy senior Meghan Ryan is a homebody. She concedes that was a factor in her recent decision to give an oral commitment to Villanova University to play field hockey next year. She had narrowed her college choices to American, Syracuse and St. Joseph's Universities, and the Wildcats before making her choice.
"My family and I are very close," she said. "A good friend of mine from grade school, Steph Caniglia, goes there, and she really likes it. I found Villanova to be a great team with great coaches." Ryan, who plans to play travel club field hockey this winter to keep her game sharp, also has played lacrosse, volleyball and softball. She finished her field hockey career with 84 goals.
