Guilty plea seen in Phila. charges

Joseph Mammana, a businessman who gained prominence for donating to criminal reward funds, is expected to plead guilty next week to tax evasion and illegal gun possession.
As part of his plea agreement, Mammana will forfeit his 2003 Lamborghini Murcielago, according to a guilty plea memorandum filed by federal prosecutors this week.
Mammana is expected to enter his guilty plea Tuesday in U.S. District Court. He was under investigation for tax evasion when, on Nov. 29, IRS agents found a loaded .357-caliber revolver in the master bedroom of his Yardley home.
Mammana, who owns an egg-processing plant in North Philadelphia, is a five-time convicted felon and cannot possess a gun.
