Utility-services firm to be sold

In anticipation of increased spending in the telecommunications and utility industries, a Houston infrastructure contractor said yesterday that it was buying InfraSource Services Inc., of Media, for $1.26 billion.
Quanta Services Inc., of Houston, is acquiring Delaware County-based InfraSource to expand its geographic reach for providing contracting services to the electric power, natural gas, telecom and cable television industries.
InfraSource's Media headquarters will become a regional office for Quanta, and corporate functions will be merged.
