Four invited to trials for U.S. under-19 team

A few more people with Philadelphia basketball ties were invited to international competition yesterday.

Corey Stokes, an incoming Villanova freshman guard, has been invited to try out for the FIBA under-19 world championship in Serbia this summer, USA Basketball announced.

Drexel coach Bruiser Flint will be an assistant coach of that team, which is led by DePaul coach Jerry Wainwright.

Stokes, a McDonald's all-American out of St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J., will attend the trials that will take place June 28-30 at the Dallas Mavericks' practice facility.
