Gunfire has claimed the life of a Philadelphia judge's younger brother.
John Douglas Moore, 55, brother of Municipal Court Judge Jimmie Moore, was shot multiple times in the chest just before 5 a.m. Wednesday on Diamond Street near 30th Street in Strawberry Mansion, police said.
He died about an hour later at Temple University Hospital.
Witnesses told police they saw a man fleeing on a bicycle.
Police, who released John Moore's name yesterday, are seeking to unravel the circumstances of the shooting in an effort to establish a motive.
Investigators said John Moore's life was unstable and described him as something of a drifter.
