Notre Dame (0-4) at Purdue (4-0), noon, ESPN.  The Boilermakers are 12th in Division I-A in passing yards per game and 23d in rushing yards. Notre Dame is ahead of only Florida International and Navy in passing yards and ahead of nobody in rushing yards.

Villanova (3-1) at James Madison (3-1), noon, CSN.  The Wildcats believe they will find out a little more about themselves here against the Colonial Athletic Association South favorites, whose only loss was to North Carolina.

No. 21 Penn State (3-1) at Illinois (3-1), noon.  Last week, the Nittany Lions were playing for their place in the top 10. This time, it's to remain ranked at all.
