Sidney Wolgin, 88, formerly of Rittenhouse Square, a business owner and philanthropist, died Nov. 2 of pulmonary fibrosis at his home in Delray Beach, Fla. Mr. Wolgin graduated from Northeast High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Villanova University. During World War II, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers in New Guinea and the Philippines.
After his discharge, he established Atlas Financial Corp. in Philadelphia with his father, Israel, and his brother Jack. After the firm closed in 1972, he continued to be involved with several financial interests, his daughter Rachelle Blick said.
