Swarthmore College will make its campus and services more accessible to disabled people under a settlement agreement with the Justice Department, it announced yesterday. The department had found barriers to restrooms, seatings, signs, doors, and interior and exterior pathways for those who are disabled.
Swarthmore agreed to make alterations to its facilities within six years and relocate services and programs to accessible facilities. The agreement addresses a wide variety of services and facilities, including administrative buildings, housing, access between facilities, parking, directional signs, and emergency preparedness.
