Recruiters' radar set for Class of 2009

The majority of the country's top high school football senior recruits signed letters of intent yesterday. Jeannette's Terrelle Pryor, still sorting out his options, was one of the holdouts. That said, the spotlight has shifted to elite players from the Class of 2009. Two area juniors, Cardinal O'Hara quarterback Tom Savage and Northeast receiver Je'Ron Stokes, are among that group.
The 6-foot-4, 224-pound Savage, who played in only seven games last season because of a broken bone in his foot, is ranked 24th overall in the Class of 2009 by rivals.com. Interest in the strong-armed QB has increased since he was selected the most valuable player at last month's U.S. Army All-American Combine in San Antonio.
