MSNBC anchor David Shuster has been temporarily suspended after making a tasteless remark Thursday about Chelsea Clinton 's role in Hillary Clinton 's presidential campaign. "Doesn't it seem like Chelsea's sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?" Shuster said. A Clinton rep yesterday called the comment "beneath contempt" and suggested that Clinton might not take part in any debate televised on MSNBC.
During his suspension, Shuster is banned from any NBC newscast except to offer an apology, which he has done. An MSNBC spokesman said the network offered "sincere regrets to the Clintons about the remarks." Shuster told the Associated Press he had tried to reach Clinton to apologize.
