Kixx strike early but lose to Ignition

DETROIT - John Barry Nusum scored both goals as the defending champion Kixx were routed by the Detroit Ignition, 16-4, in an MISL game last night at the Compuware Arena. The Kixx fell to 10-13 and are just 3-8 on the road. The Ignition (13-7) got two goals each from Jonathan Greenfield and Mike Apple.

The Kixx are 1-3 against Detroit this season, after defeating the Ignition in the 2007 MISL championship game for the second title in team history. They were without goalkeeper Peter Pappas, who was out after getting hit in the eye with a shot on Feb. 9 against Milwaukee.
