Community Arts Center dedicates its new gallery The Community Arts Center and supporters of the "Community Building/Building Community" project celebrated the opening of the nonprofit's most significant building addition in its 60-year history last weekend. Construction of the 3,200-square-foot Lillian and Joseph C.
Duke Gallery began in June 2007 and cost $1.3 million. The addition features a cathedral ceiling, exposed wood beams, hardwood floors, and an elevator to the center's main building. The estate, at 414 Plush Mill Rd. in Wallingford, was built in 1889 by the Henry P. Dixon family, and has been the Community Arts Center's home since 1968.
