S. Jersey Boys: Lenape's Conway wins Garden State golf title

Lenape 's Garrett Conway used a par on the second playoff hole to take individual honors at the prestigious Garden State Cup golf tournament yesterday at Blue Heron Pines Golf Club. Conway and  Moorestown 's Kevin Zimmer each shot 76 in a field of 21 of the state's top scholastic teams to force the playoff.

Each player made a bogey on the first hole of sudden death before Conway parred the par-3 second hole and Zimmer made a bogey. St. Augustine  had three players among the top 10 individuals and claimed the team title by two strokes over Moorestown. The Hermits' L.J. Georgetti shot 77, Davis Schaller carded a 79, and Brian Yi shot 81. Baseball New Egypt  rallied for six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, capped by Shane Weieberger's walk-off grand slam, and stunned visiting  Holy Cross , 10-6, in a Burlington County League game.
