Feel-good gun laws Is this a joke? Mayor Nutter likens the signing of meaningless, feel-good gun-control measures to the founding of the greatest, most powerful nation in the world ("Nutter defiantly signs five gun laws," April 11)? I suppose it would have been more of a tragedy had the recent death of the Starbucks employee been the result of a handgun.

At least then the press could have demonized something other than the culprits. When will someone detail the facts behind urban violence: a lack of commitment to education by urban families; lack of responsibility for disciplining out-of-control youths who grow up to be out-of-control adults; drug-dealing, ball-playing and rap music seen as the only ways out of bad urban conditions; Democratic Party dominance in almost...
