Now that she's finally getting to compete at the Penn Relays as a collegian, Philadelphia's Nicole Leach wants to make sure her UCLA teammates know what to expect. "She talked about how the weather might change, and you have to kind of pack for sunshine and rain," UCLA women's track coach Jeanette Bolden said yesterday during a teleconference.
"Nicole has educated a lot of them." No matter if sun or clouds greet her on Thursday's opening day of the 114th annual carnival, Leach will be excited when she hits the Franklin Field track. The junior from West Catholic will compete on the Bruins' 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay teams.
