Syracuse's Greene works out for Sixers

The messages kept coming, so Donte Greene shut down his MySpace and Facebook profile pages. Then someone found his cell phone number and constantly called, chiding Greene for leaving Syracuse after his freshman season. So Greene got a new phone. But the e-mails from angry Syracuse fans are still pouring in daily.

"It was thousands of times," Greene said of the derogatory e-mails he received since declaring for the NBA draft on April 9. Greene and four other players worked out for the Sixers yesterday in the team's second predraft workout at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Greene was joined by St. Joseph's forwards Pat Calathes and Rob Ferguson, North Carolina State forward J.J. Hickson, and Russian Nikita Shabalkin. Greene is 6-foot-9 and 221 pounds, and...
